Conductor, composer, writer, educator, and friend based in Olive Branch, Mississippi.

I started out with no interest in being in the band or the choir. I was heavily involved in sports and other activities, and didn’t think music was for me. Thankfully, a good friend convinced me to join band in sixth grade. I began playing trumpet, and my love for music blossomed. I was so drawn to the pursuit of excellence that music gave me; the delayed gratification spurred me forward. Being forced to work diligently and consistently gave my life structure that I so desperately needed. I later joined the choir in tenth grade, and the snowball kept growing. Being a part of a group, whether that was a chamber choir of 12, or a marching band of 150, gave me purpose. I loved being a part of a team, and I loved being a leader however I could be. I knew I wanted to become a teacher so that I could give the next generation that same love of music that has saved my life more than I can count.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Instrumental Music (with a minor in Digital Media Studies) from Ole Miss in 2019, studying under David Wilson, then returned for my Master’s in Choral Conducting in 2022 under the mentorship of Dr. Don Trott and Dr. Libby Hearn. Currently, I am the Director of Choral Activities at DeSoto Central Middle School, where I lead 160 students across five ensembles. I additionally serve as Director of Music Ministries at Covenant United Methodist Church, where I conduct the chancel choir and orchestra. I am also a member of the Mississippi River Chorale through CoroRio, an extra-curricular choral program based in DeSoto county.

Whether I’m in front of my students, in a sanctuary, or just writing at the piano by myself, my goal is always the same: music should inspire. My goal with my writing is to foster vulnerability, openness, empathy, and to challenge and grow the next generation of musicians. I do my best to bring that spirit to every piece I write and arrange.

I live in Olive Branch with my fiancée, Emma, and our very full house - two dogs (Minny and Beans) and three cats (Rosie, Misty, and Soup). When I’m not working on music, I enjoy watching sports, playing fantasy football, video games, reading, and amateur astronomy.
