Privacy Policy

What I collect. When you use the contact or commission forms, I collect your name, email address, and the message you send. When you buy something directly from this site, Squarespace and its payment processors collect the payment and billing details needed to complete your order. I never see or store your full card number.

How I use it. I use your information to reply to your inquiries, deliver your purchases, and arrange commissions. I do not sell or rent your personal information.

Third parties. This site is hosted by Squarespace, which uses cookies and collects basic analytics such as pages viewed and approximate location. Payments made on this site are handled by Squarespace's payment processors. If you buy through Sheet Music Plus or ArrangeMe, that purchase is handled by them under their own privacy policy.

Your choices. I keep correspondence and order records for as long as needed to serve you and meet legal obligations. To ask what personal information I hold about you, or to have it deleted, email jake@jakesouthmusic.com.

Children. This site is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Terms of Use

Content. All music, scores, recordings, text, and images on this site are copyright Jake South unless noted otherwise. Score previews and audio are provided for evaluation only and may not be copied, redistributed, or reused.

Arrangements of copyrighted songs. I do not own the songs I arrange. Arrangements of copyrighted music are published through ArrangeMe and sold on Sheet Music Plus under their licensing arrangements with the copyright owners.

Use of this site. This site and its content are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or its content. Links to other websites are provided for convenience, and I am not responsible for their content.

Commissions. Prices shown on the Commissions page are estimates. Custom work is governed by the written quote or agreement we make before work begins.

Governing law and changes. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Mississippi. I may update these terms and policies from time to time, and continuing to use the site means you accept the current version.

Refund Policy

Digital downloads. Scores and recordings are delivered immediately and can be copied, so all sales of digital downloads are final. If a file is corrupted, incomplete, or not as described, email jake@jakesouthmusic.com within 30 days of purchase with your order details and I will replace it or issue a refund.

Sheet Music Plus and ArrangeMe. Purchases made on those sites are covered by their policies, so please contact them directly about those orders.

Custom commissions. Deposits, revisions, and cancellations for custom work are covered in the written agreement for each project.

Licensing and Permitted Use

What you can do. Purchasing a score gives you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to print or copy the parts you need for the members of the single school, church, or organization that purchased it, for rehearsal and live performance.

What you can't do. Please do not share, resell, upload, or distribute the files, make copies for other groups, or present the work as your own. Each additional organization that wants to perform a piece needs its own purchase.

Recording, streaming, and broadcast. This license covers rehearsal and live performance. For my original works, email me about recording or livestreaming and I will be glad to help. For arrangements of copyrighted songs, you are responsible for obtaining any performance, recording, or streaming licenses required by the copyright owners.
